How I Got Here
One could say the journey began in my mid twenties when I began scribbling a few lines of prose. But those first tentative steps faltered and came to a halt with little experience and knowledge to keep them in motion.
Some thirty years later, one line from a song, and a year out from work, was enough to kick start my imagination. The result, three novels (so far) that make up a series of modern day psychological mysteries: SONG OF THE ROBIN, REUNION and BROKEN.
The novels share a close timeline but can be read as stand alone stories.
Set in the twenty first century, themes of destiny and family are central throughout, and amidst tragedy and joy the spiritual gifts that I believe are hidden within each and every one of us are explored and brought to life.
Born in The Black Country in the heart of the West Midlands, I have lived there all my life except for a year in a remote Scottish Croft with my wife Julie and youngest daughter.
I worked for 35 years in telecommunications but changed career paths to a managerial supporting role within a local Mental Health NHS trust. It was during the period between these roles that the concept for my first novel Song of the Robin was born.
